Pain Management Services
Epidural Steroid Injections
Epidural steroid injections are used to place medicine directly around a pinched nerve or nerve root compression. The medication is a combination of a corticosteroid and a numbing agent like lidocaine. This minimally-invasive procedure reduces pain and inflammation.
Facet Joint Injections
Facet joint injections are a minimally-invasive procedure used to treat pain in the facet joints – tiny, spur-like bones that sit along the spine. An anti-inflammatory steroid and local anesthetic are injected to reduce pain.
RadioFrequency Ablation
Radiofrequency ablation uses electrical currents to destroy damaged nerves or tissues that send pain signals to the brain. This is done fluoroscopically and is used frequently to treat neck, knee, and arthritis pain.
Spinal Cord Stimulation
A spinal cord stimulator (SCS) is a small device that is placed under the skin and transmits a mild, low-frequency electric current to the spinal cord. This blocks the pain signal from reaching the brain, preventing pain.
Peripheral Nerve Stimulation
Peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) is similar to spinal cord stimulation in that a device is implanted to transmit low electrical currents. With PNS, the currents direct the signal to the nerves along the spine.
Joint Injections
Joint injections are used to treat nerve or tissue damage in joints like knees, hips, and shoulders. This minimally-invasive procedure injects a corticosteroid and anesthetic into the joint, reducing inflammation and pain.
